<div>Okay, I'm a HUGE Smallville fan, LOVE the show, but last night's ep was just kinda...weird. Now it had its good moments, and I like Jimmy Olsen but somehow, I can't buy Jimmy as the James Bond type (like the agent would give him a tux with all those weapons in it?), and for some reason his dance scene with Chloe just didn't quite sit right...I dunno, I just can't put my finger on why it bothered me. <br/> <br/>And...I mean, C'MON, they can't come up with a better plot device then time travel and the whole wipe-out-Clark's-very-existence bit? How unoriginal! Pretty, but mostly there for the plot and other characters to rest upon from time to time. But I gotta say her character is actually becoming more interesting. Also, a draft of the season finale was leaked (some smart writer left it in a trashcan in an airport) and of the four characters, Lex is the only one not dead or dying by the end of the episode. The leaked script was an early draft, so changes could have been made. <br/> <br/>It could very well be Allison Mack. Chloe is not in the comic books (although DC did buy the rights to her and they keep swearing they’re going to incorporate her, but they haven’t done so yet). From the spoiler above “It is someone who is most definitely a fan favorite. And I think you're gonna freak.” Chloe is a fan favorite, and “you’re gonna freak” could be a hint at Chloe’s new meteor freak status. Furthermore Allison Mack has recently started an on-line blog (http://www.allisonmack.com , it’s very good, but don’t expect much Smallville discussion) and it’s been speculated the reason she did this is to keep in contact with her fans since she might not be on weekly TV anymore. But outgoing show producer Stephen DeKnight said back in March on his blog that everyone really likes Allison and Chloe and there are no plans to get rid of the character. And I think if they were’ going to kill Chloe off they would have developed the maybe/maybe not romantic relationship between her and Clark. That way, when she dies, it’ll be much more tragic for him. <br/> <br/>I strongly think it’s going to be Kristin Kruek. She has also said that she would not sign up for an 8th season, that she’s not sure she wants to do a TV series again. She’s expressed a dislike for Lana in interviews. There are rumors that her health is an issue. It may be that she wants off the show and the showrunners are accommodating her. This would explain the sudden switch in the middle of the season. The first part of the season Clark was over Lana. She was over him, she actually was really mad at him. Then, suddenly in Hydro she’s in love with him and he’s in love with her. They’re back to pining for each other. Now she’s learned his secret and once the marriage between her and Lex is exposed as a shame there will be no reason why Clark and Lana can’t be together. They seem to be bringing her character arc to a resolution. If everything’s resolved between her and Clark then why can’t they be together forever? And we know they’re not together forever. <br/>At the end of the leaked finale script, Chloe is dying and Clark is about to be killed, but Lana is already dead. She dies before the end of the episode in a car crash while trying to get away from Lex. She is dead. That’s very strong evidence that her character is the one who “will be killed off before the season ends” <br/>And, apparently on Monday night Entertainment Tonight – Canada had a quiz asking which Smallville actress was leaving the series at the end of the season. Their answer was Kristin Kruek. <br/> <br/>Of course it could all be a big fake out. Lana’s death could be faked the way Chloe’s death was faked at the end of season 3/beginning of season 4. Her consistantly strong performance has developed the character of Chloe Sullivan to such a level that she's much more realistic and well-rounded than any other character on the show. <br/> <br/>I love the interaction between Clark and Chloe. <div>Finally sat down and watched this weeks episode, and it was as I had thought it seems. Back when Lionel was hit with that piece of crystal and became the embodiment of Jor-El, it seems that wasn't a temporary thing. So is this a full-on moving into with a new person, or a shared mind? If it's a full-on replacement, seems Jor-El is smarter, slicer, and craftier then Lionel may have been. And if it's shared, who KNOWS what's in store. Of course, I'm basing this assumption on the end when Lionel called Clark Kal-El as he sat and watched the warehouse footage. We see so much of Metropolis and the Daily Planet - when can we expect Clark to move onto to that level. And does he really know how to fly? (as well as those cheesy teen drama shows like "Dawsons Creek") So I thought Smallville would be a great mix. The first season was nice as Clark was discovering his powers for the first time. <br/> <br/>But, I just finished Season 3, and I'm getting a little bored of this series. I USED to want Clark and Lana to get together, but now their relationship has been overdone and dragged out way too much. I've lost count at how many times they've ended the show with a "Clark and Lana" scene in the barn where they have the same ol' talk of "we love each other, but since you can't be completely honest with me, we must remain friends". The writers need to move on and find these characters new love interests. I was happy for a while when Lana was dating that other guy, but he turned out to be a zombie. (literally) <br/> <br/>And I am SICK of all these teenagers who get infected with the kryptonite and suddenly become evil. (and usually try to kill Lana) This makes me feel that the writers are lazy. Kryptonite and the cave is their explanation to everything. I wish they were more creative. My favorite stories are the ones without any mutant villans, but ones where Clark tries to live a normal life. <br/> <br/>I was actually happy at the end of season 3 when Pete moves away and Cloe dies (hopefully) in an explosion, neither of those characters added anything to the story, and when they teamed up with Clark to solve mysteries, I felt like I was watching old "scooby doo" cartoons. <br/> <br/>Honestly, I've grown a little bored with the entire Kent family, and probably the best part of the show (plot-wise and acting-wise) is the Luthor family. Since the writers already gave Clark the characteristics of the Superman we know in the comics (ethical, fighting for the good of mankind), there is little use to continue his storyline. But, Lex hasnt become the super evil power yet, so it is interesting to see what will eventually bring him to the dark side. But again, the writers had the chance of really having fun with his character but blew it. They should have spent the first two seasons building his relationship up with Clark and really showing Lex as a good guy. And then SLOWLY he should have become darker and corrupt. But instead, from the very first episode, they made Lex as the 'shady' kinda-evil, kinda-good guy. (not giving him as much room to grow as a character) <br/> <br/>Okay.
